How To Make Photos Look Like Film in Photoshop:

      1. Step 1: Install Vintage Film LUTS into Photoshop. Copy and paste the lut / .cube files into the following folder. Applications > Adobe Photoshop > Presets > 3DLUTS.
      2. Step 2: Bring the image you want to add a vintage film look to into photoshop. Click on the Adjustments tab, then the Color Lookup icon. In the properties window, click on the 3DLUT File drop down menu and select any of the vintage film LUTS.
      3. Step 3: Add Red Halation Effect. Load the red halation photoshop action by clicking on the actions tab. Then click on the hamburger icon and select "Load Action". Then go to the folder where the photoshop action file is located and select it. Select your image in photoshop and then click the play button in the action window. This gives the image a natural and subtle red bloom effect that is in film.
      4. Step 4: Drag and drop one of the real film grain texture overlays on top of your photo layer and scale it accordingly. Change the blending mode to desired look. The lighten, screen, color dodge, linear dodge, overlay, soft light, and hard light all provide slightly different but great film looks.
      5. Step 5: Add a photo film frame border on top of your image. Scale and crop the image accordingly.
